Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Conduct thorough assessments of new patients to accurately identify their needs, preferences, and goals related to substance use recovery. \n
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based therapeutic approaches, ensuring each plan is tailored to the unique circumstances of the patient. \n
- Provide one-on-one counseling sessions, employing modalities such as motivational interviewing and cognitive-behavioral therapy to foster engagement and facilitate progress. \n
- Facilitate group therapy sessions that promote peer support, allowing individuals to share experiences and coping strategies that enhance their recovery process. \n
- Work in close collaboration with psychiatrists and addiction specialists to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care, integrating various treatment modalities as needed. \n
- Offer crisis intervention services when required, assisting patients during high-stress moments or substance-related emergencies. \n
- Educate patients and their families about addiction and recovery strategies, empowering them with knowledge and resources to enhance their journey. \n
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient documentation in line with legal and ethical standards, ensuring confidentiality and facilitating continuity of care. \n
- Participate actively in team meetings and professional development initiatives, sharing knowledge and learning from the collective expertise of the team. \n
- Stay informed on advancements in substance use disorder treatment and best practices to continually enhance your professional skills and patient outcomes. \n
You will be working primarily with individuals grappling with substance use disorders, including those struggling with various forms of addiction. Our clients come from diverse backgrounds and face unique challenges; thus, a tailored, empathetic approach is crucial for fostering their recovery. Your role is vital in guiding them through their journey, offering support and understanding as they work toward healthier lives.
Qualifications\n- \n
- A Master’s or Doctoral degree in counseling, social work, or a related field is mandatory. \n
- Current licensure as a Mental Health Therapist (LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, LCSW-R) in New York State. \n
- In-depth knowledge of substance use disorders, recovery-oriented practices, and evidence-based treatment methodologies. \n
- Demonstrated experience in providing individual and group therapy specifically within addiction treatment settings. \n
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with a non-judgmental and empathetic approach towards clients. \n

- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in mental health counseling, specifically focusing on substance use disorders. \n
- Proficiency in telehealth platforms and comfort utilizing technology for remote counseling. \n
- Experience in crisis intervention and working within multidisciplinary teams. \n
The salary range for this position is competitive, ranging from USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience. In addition to base salary, we offer a sign-on bonus and potential performance bonuses.
