Assistant Bakery Manager

Overview of Responsibilities Assist the Bakery Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit. Take responsibility for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Bakery team. Execute rotation of merchandise and build displays. Monitor incoming cases for damaged items. Ensure delivery of excellent customer service and monitor the quality of Bakery products. Unload and sort store deliveries, operate, and maintain deli equipment. Execute all company health, safety and sanitation guidelines and ensure other Bakery team members are aware of and following these procedures. Qualifications Be at least 18 years of age with a minimum of two years’ retail grocery experience and two years of supervisory experience. Be dependable and reliable with the ability to work a flexible schedule that changes, including nights, weekends and holidays. Exhibit an outgoing and friendly behavior, maintain a positive attitude, and interact effectively with our customers. Have good communication skills and the ability to give and take direction in a team environment. Be able to answer phones and take special orders. Perform general housekeeping in the department; clean and sanitize the work area (tables, floor, walls, cases, cooler, freezer, etc.). Operate knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as needed; use knowledge of scales and weight measures to accurately weigh and label products. Stand for up to 3 hours continuously for an 8‑hour shift; vertically transfer trays up to 5 lb, from 7” to 64”, for up to 10 hours, and vertically/horizontally transfer items up to 40 lb, from 5” to 36”, over a distance up to 36 feet for up to 10 hours without mechanical assistance. Adhere to all safety, health, and Weights & Measures regulations, and obtain and maintain a Food Handlers permit. Pay Range The pay range for this position is $17.30 – $24.20 per hour. Sprouts Farmers Market determines pay based on applicable experience and qualifications.
