Factory Commissioning Group Lead (2nd Shift) – Rolling Stock Siemens Mobility is building the future of rail transportation through advanced, sustainable passenger rail vehicles. We are looking for a Group Lead to manage a team of technicians responsible for validation testing and daily operations in a manufacturing line environment. The role is fully embedded on the factory floor; you will coordinate testing activities, ensure the team and vehicle systems meet safety and quality standards, and support troubleshooting during production. The Group Lead works closely with engineering, production, and commissioning teams to keep testing on track and drive continuous improvement. Shift 2nd Shift: Monday – Thursday, 4:00 p.m. – 2:30 a.m. Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities Lead a team of technicians in validation testing during rail car production Assign daily tasks based on schedule, readiness, and staffing Interpret test procedures and technical documentation to guide accurate execution Support troubleshooting of electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and high‑voltage issues Coordinate with engineering, production, and quality to resolve issues Track test progress, ensure documentation, and elevate delays as needed Promote safety, enforce standards, and drive continuous improvement Qualifications High school diploma or GED 5+ years of a proven track record of leading teams to exceptional results in a manufacturing or testing environment 3+ years of electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and high‑voltage troubleshooting experience Ability to anticipate bottlenecks and proactively adjust team priorities Talent for empowering and developing technicians to grow technical skills and ownership Excellent communication across all levels, from shop floor to leadership Data‑driven decision making and performance tracking Associate’s degree in engineering, mechatronics, or similar preferred Physical Demands Comfortable working in a non‑climate‑controlled environment when required Standing, walking, sitting, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and hand use for handling objects or tools Frequent verbal communication; occasional tasks may involve detecting odors Ability to lift or move items up to 40 pounds Vision: close and distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment Benefits 11 paid holidays, 18 days of PTO 401(k) with 6% company match Health, Dental, Vision insurance, HSA/FSA, commuter benefits starting Day 1 Tuition reimbursement and mentoring programs Employee perks and discounts in addition to our 401(k) match and generous paid time off Salary Base rate for this position in Lexington, NC is $29.30/hr – $34.47/hr, plus an additional 10% for shift differential.
