Construction Superintendent

CPS Construction is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent to oversee field operations and ensure the successful execution of commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. The Superintendent serves as the primary on-site representative of CPS Construction and is responsible for project safety, quality, schedule, subcontractor coordination, client communication, and overall jobsite performance. Serve as the primary on-site contact for owners, architects, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, and project stakeholders. Manage day-to-day field operations and coordinate all subcontractors and self-performed work. Lead project planning, scheduling, and execution to achieve milestone and completion dates. Conduct jobsite meetings and maintain clear communication with all project participants. Coordinate multi-trade activities to maximize productivity and minimize conflicts. Scheduling & Production Ensure subcontractors have current drawings, specifications, and project information. Verify subcontractors have ordered and scheduled materials to support project timelines. Proactively identify potential delays and implement solutions before impacts occur. Coordinate inspections, equipment startups, utility connections, and project turnover activities. Safety Management Enforce all company safety policies and OSHA requirements. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized jobsite at all times. Identify and mitigate safety hazards before incidents occur. Coordinate jobsite access, temporary utilities, lighting, security, and protection measures. Quality Control Ensure all work is completed in accordance with contract documents, plans, specifications, and applicable codes. Verify quality workmanship and installation standards. Conduct regular quality inspections and maintain documentation. Manage punch lists, pre-punch inspections, and project closeout activities. Documentation & Reporting Maintain daily reports, time logs, receipts, schedules, and project documentation. Track manpower and create workforce schedules across multiple projects. Record material deliveries and verify quantities and accuracy. Take progress photos and maintain project records for documentation and closeout. Provide regular project status updates to Project Managers and company leadership. Client Relations Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, owners, tenants, and project stakeholders. Conduct site walks and progress reviews with owners and clients. Communicate project updates, schedule changes, and field conditions in a professional and timely manner. Assist in reviewing change order requests and project modifications. Self-Perform Work Perform carpentry and other field work as required. Develop material lists and coordinate procurement for self-performed activities. Manage labor, materials, and equipment to ensure budget and productivity goals are achieved. Qualifications Required 5+ years of experience as a Commercial Construction Superintendent or similar leadership role. Proven experience managing commercial construction projects from start to finish. Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, building systems, and safety practices. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Proficiency with project scheduling and construction management software. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Preferred OSHA 30 Certification. Experience with ground-up commercial construction and tenant improvement projects. Carpentry background or hands-on construction experience. Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
