Sewing Machine OperatorA manufacturing company is seeking dependable and detail-oriented Sewing Machine Operators to assist with the production of nylon products. This position is responsible for operating industrial sewing machines to join, hem, reinforce, and finish materials according to production specifications and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have good hand-eye coordination, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to maintain consistent quality while working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Responsibilities and Duties:Operate industrial sewing machines, including single-needle and double-needle machinesProperly thread sewing machines and ensure equipment is set up correctly for productionUnderstand and safely operate sewing machine components, including the presser foot, foot pedal, and other moving partsSelect appropriate sewing supplies, including binding, braid, cord, piping, tape, thread, and welt, according to product specificationsVerify that the correct raw materials are used for each product on the production scheduleInspect materials for fabric flaws, defects, and inconsistencies before and during productionSew materials and components together according to established specifications, production timelines, and quality standardsTrim excess thread and material to ensure finished products meet quality requirementsSort, organize, and properly identify completed pieces by size, style, or other required specificationsMonitor stitching quality and sewing machine performance throughout productionReport equipment malfunctions, sewing defects, or material quality concerns to the supervisor or sewing machine mechanicMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work areaFollow all safety guidelines, including proper use of safety glasses, required dress code, and footwear policiesMeet established production goals while maintaining accuracy and product qualityPerform other duties as assignedRequirements and Qualifications:Previous industrial sewing machine operator experience preferredOne year of sewing machine operator experience preferredHigh school diploma or GED preferred but not requiredExperience operating single-needle and double-needle industrial sewing machines is a plusAbility to properly thread a sewing machine and understand basic machine operationsGood mechanical aptitude and ability to make basic machine adjustments as neededAbility to identify fabric defects, stitching flaws, and quality issuesAbility to use measuring devices and follow product specificationsGood hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness, and coordination of hand and foot movementsAbility to follow verbal instructions and established production proceduresStrong attention to detail and commitment to qualityAbility to work efficiently in a manufacturing or production environmentDependable, safety-conscious, and able to maintain an organized work areaApplicants may be subject to a background check.*A pre-employment drug screening may be required as a condition of employment.*A conviction does not automatically disqualify you from employment.
