Application Developer III/Process Control EngineerWe have an immediate opening for a Process Control Engineer within its Process Control Systems group located in Granite City, IL. This high-profile role combines the challenges of project management and information architecture working within a highly skilled team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining Software and Hardware of Process Control systems in all areas of the plant. Plant Process Control systems routinely consist of Allen-Bradley Programmable Logic Controllers communicating to real-time applications, models and databases hosted on Open VMS and Windows Servers. Work is done in accordance with Safety and Quality Standard Operating Procedures of Client. Due to the nature of our business, our facilities operate 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, 365 days/year. This is a normally 40 hour/week position, working day shift Monday through Friday with little to no travel. However, after hour support rotation is shared among team members and is required. Therefore, this position may require occasional work on off-hours, weekends and/or holidays.Major ResponsibilitiesAnalyzing production processes and user requirements for system development, Detail design of system specification including hardware and software requirements, Coding, testing and implementation of applications / systems and user training, Supporting the critical production systems in a timely fashion; troubleshooting problems and maximize operating efficiencies with minimal interruption, Project Management: coordinate the design and development efforts of a small project team.Minimum RequirementsAdvanced OpenVMS and FORTRAN experience (C/C++ or MS .NET desired), RDP, intermediate networking, and Oracle / SQL database experience. Employee must be capable of donning PPE and working in a mill environment.Desired SkillsLevel 1, SCADA and manufacturing experience desired.EducationBachelor Degree or 4 years equivalent experience in Computer or Electrical field.
