Maintenance Manager

Responsibilities Schedules and prioritizes maintenance, preventive maintenance and repairs of equipment and building, and ensures timely completion of work. Supervises maintenance department personnel, assigns work, schedules leave, evaluates performance, and provides technical and safety training. Performs contractor research and writes reports as required. Assists in strategic planning of the plant maintenance department. Assists in budget preparation. Interacts with the Fire Marshal and the company’s insurance carrier. Plans and organizes work to meet schedules and timelines in an environment with constantly changing priorities. Analyzes situations accurately and adopts an effective course of action. Adheres to all company GMPs and department procedures. Maintains an effective pest control program. Conducts maintenance staff meetings and department safety meetings. Supports MRO and ISO teams. Qualifications Capable of reading, writing and speaking English. Capable of physical mobility, including sitting, bending, twisting, standing and lifting. Possesses functional knowledge of mechanical repair/maintenance on molding machines and auxiliary equipment with a minimum of six (6) years practical application. Capable of assigning, scheduling, and supervising the maintenance and repair of molding machines, auxiliary equipment and building. Highly motivated, self‑starting working habits. Capable of motivating and training others. Possesses person computer skills, including JDE. Knowledge of tools, procedures, technical skills and safety rules used in the maintenance and repair of equipment and building. Capable of maintaining an attendance record within the company’s guidelines and working required extended hours. Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills. Capable of working extended workdays and weekends as required. Responds to after‑hour emergency conditions. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. Physical Requirements / Work Environment Office environment: temperature range from 65°F to 85°F, depending on the season. Location: Berry Monroe Township, NJ 08331. Noise level is usually 87dB. Minimal plastic purge fumes; normal level of dust and odor associated with an office environment at a plant site. Must wear rubber‑sole shoes. Must also wear earplugs, hairnets, safety glasses and beard guard when on the production floor. No jewelry except for a wedding band without stones. One to two hour intervals of sitting in a back‑supported chair doing paperwork, having telephone conversations, and attending meetings. Organizational Relationship Reports to the Plant Manager.
