Description

American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist with strong neuro experience for a Main OR position at a teaching hospital.

Details

• Main OR setting supporting general surgery, orthopedics, neuro, ENT, vascular, plastics, gynecology, urology, and robotics cases
• Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 8:30 AM to 9:00 PM)
• On-call requirements apply, with specific details discussed during interview
• Floating within scope required, including to sister facilities
• Uses Epic charting system
• Every other holiday coverage expected

Requirements

• Minimum of 18 months of experience required, 2 years preferred
• Strong neuro experience required
• BLS certification from the AHA required
• NBSTSA certification preferred
• License required if applicable
• No pending licenses or certifications accepted; must be active at time of consideration
• One professional reference required from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in the specialty applying for
• Epic charting experience required
• Ability to perform in a wide range of surgical specialties including vascular, ENT, general surgery, gynecology, neuro, ophthalmology, orthopedic, robotics, thoracic, and urology procedures
• Knowledge of aseptic technique, sterilization/disinfection, radiation and laser safety, and universal protocol/time out procedures

• Assist in surgical procedures across a broad range of specialties in a teaching hospital environment
• First-time travelers accepted
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• All RTO must be discussed during interview and submitted upfront; late RTO requests are unlikely to be approved
• Ceil blue scrub color required
• Time-sensitive orientation modules must be completed promptly upon confirmation
• Facility is smoke-free; nicotine-free status required with negative 10-panel drug screen including cotinine
• COVID-19 and flu vaccinations required, with medical or religious exemptions only
• Permanent or per diem staff cannot return to this health system for 1 year from their previous end date
• Assignments are limited to 18 consecutive months, followed by a required 6-month break before returning to any facility within this health system
