Position

The Lead Instructor and Assistant Manager is a hybrid role combining hands-on teaching with day-to-day management responsibilities. This person will teach Snapology programs, manage part-time staff, support light marketing efforts, and act as the face of our business.

Programs are conducted for children ages 2-14, with most classes catering to elementary-aged students. We are primarily a mobile business, offering classes, camps, workshops, and parties around the metro Atlanta area.

Schedule and Hours

• 30-36 hours per week
• Core hours are Monday-Thursday, 11:00am-6:30pm
• Monday-Thursday includes teaching one 3-hour class and one 1-hour class each day, with built-in time for prep, travel, break down, and organizing materials
• Additional hours are scheduled on Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays each week depending on events and administrative tasks
• During camp weeks (when schools are closed or on break), hours typically run Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00am and 6:00pm. You may be asked to teach or manage during camp weeks depending on that week's needs.
• Pay and hours can increase as our business grows

Starting Compensation

$21-$25 per hour depending on experience

Responsibilities

• Lead groups of up to 25 students through curriculum-guided activities
• Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
• Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures
• Create a fun, engaging experience for the children
• Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use the information to adjust teaching strategies
• Adequately prepare for each program by reading curriculum, watching training videos, and/or participating in face-to-face training sessions
• Manage part-time instructors, including scheduling and day-to-day support
• Support light marketing efforts for programs and events
• Handle inquiries from parents regarding Snapology programs
• Encourage students and parents to enroll in future Snapology programs
• Participate in periodic Snapology training and staff meetings, as required
• Communicate proactively with owners and managers on scheduling, staffing, and program needs
• Travel between locations daily, transporting materials and leading classes at our various metro Atlanta locations

• A genuine sense of ownership over your role and the programs you run
• Exceptional professionalism in school environments and with admin and families
• Strong classroom management skills, respect for children, and a love for STEM education
• Experience and enthusiasm working with children who have special needs
• Comfortable being the face of our business in the community

Skills

• A clear Criminal and Child Abuse Registry screening
• 2 or more years of experience working with children in a classroom environment
• Experience managing or supervising others
• Education degree and teaching experience strongly preferred
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
• Proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis
• Have reliable, insured transportation to conduct mobile classes around the east side of Atlanta

This position is part-time, with the potential to grow as our business grows.
