Johnson College is currently seeking a full-time instructor for our Electrical Construction Technology program. Do you have a passion for your industry? Academic instruction will include classroom lectures and hands-on activities. The ideal candidate should have the ability to speak confidently in front of a small crowd and a passion for recruiting into the skilled trades. Be able to manage, maintain, and supervise the course of study. The instructor is responsible for course development, delivery, and assessment.We are looking for someone to start this academic year, beginning at the end of August. The position will work from mid-August to mid-May. The instructor is responsible for course development, delivery, and assessment. The instructor reports directly to the lead instructor or program director.Essential Job Functions:Maintain the course of study by reviewing syllabi, course curriculum, booksAssist with the selection and review of library resources to keep them current for the course of studyEnforce college policies and procedures with program studentsMaintain a safe learning environment within program areasSubmit student book/tool kit/parts information to the lead instructor or department chairWork with Academics to develop scheduling and transferability of courseworkProvide student advisement and assistance when necessaryPromote the program and assist with the procurement of educational resources and equipmentParticipate in college committees, activities, and eventsParticipation in professional organizationsAssist the Continuing Education Department as requiredComplete other related duties as assignedIndividuals must have strong communication skills, the ability to teach, expertise in their program area, good managerial skills, knowledge of industry standards, assessment skills, and organizational and word-processing skills.Supervisory Responsibilities:Enforce college policies and procedures with all students and within their course of study.Equipment to be used:Equipment used in the program of study, computers, and associated software.Johnson College provides real-world, hands-on learning in a supportive environment and prepares graduates to enter into or advance their in-demand careers.
