Temporary / Temp to Hire
Full-Time | On-Site in Sunrise, FL
Busy regional law firm is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Litigation Legal Assistant to join their Sunrise office. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of recent litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense or commercial litigation; plaintiff experience will also be considered. Ideal candidate will be comfortable supporting attorneys and paralegals in a fast-paced environment.
- Support attorneys through all phases of litigation, including case preparation, discovery, and trial preparation
- Prepare, proofread, and format pleadings, discovery, correspondence, and other legal documents
- Handle e-filing in both State and Federal Courts
- Manage attorney calendars, court deadlines, hearings, meetings, appointments, and travel
- Maintain organized and accurate electronic case files
- Manage documents through the firm's case/document management system (AIM)
- Assist with transcription, data entry, filing, phone calls, and other administrative duties as needed
- Provide general administrative and litigation support to attorneys and paralegals
- 3+ years of recent experience as a litigation legal assistant
- Insurance defense experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of litigation procedures and State/Federal Court calendaring
- Experience with State and Federal Court e-filing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong proofreading and transcription skills
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines
- Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently
- Professional demeanor and ability to work effectively under pressure
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience with AIM or PerfectLaw preferred
- Strong attention to detail and a team-oriented approach
