Job Title Student Mentor / Student Wellness Coach About Us Elevo’s mission is to transform the well‑being of students so they look forward to coming to school. Our WASC‑accredited curriculum engages students and fosters social‑emotional learning through fun, physically active games, sports, and enrichment activities focused on arts, humanities, and STEM. The services we provide include the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program, Before & After School Programs, Summer & Intersession Programs, and so much more. Our programs offer opportunities to learn, move, and thrive together beyond classroom walls while developing essential life skills. We continue to build our capacity as we expand our programs to more districts. The Role As a Mentor to Elementary and Middle School students, you’ll be trained through our Elevo training program to support students with chronic absenteeism. By building supportive relationships, you’ll create a sense of belonging and community that helps students set goals, build skills, and navigate their problems so they are set to succeed. This role works hand in hand with school site staff and is an extension of their student support systems. Responsibilities Student support and mentorship: serve as a safe and supportive adult to meet attendance expectations and promote community engagement. Recess support & engagement: engage students during unstructured times (e.g., recess, lunch) to organize and facilitate games and social‑awareness activities. Student goal setting & skill building: hold regular meetings to develop short‑ and long‑term goals and teach responsible decision‑making and self‑management skills. Coregulation & de‑escalation support: help students regulate emotions using restorative practices and repair harm. Progress monitoring: track and assess student progress, adjust strategies, and share data with appropriate school contacts. Crisis liaison and support: when a student needs counseling or has a suicide risk, provide a warm handoff to district staff. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Minimum 1 year of experience working with students. Desire and commitment to make an impact on students’ lives. Age 18 or older. High‑school diploma or GED. Preferred Experience working with marginalized populations or in “at‑promised” youth settings. Knowledge or experience related to culturally responsive schools and the effects of childhood adversity. Skills, Knowledge, & Traits Maintain self‑control during high‑stress situations. Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to collaborate with stakeholders. General knowledge of child development. Assertive, charismatic, emotionally intelligent, student‑centered, compassionate, safe, predictable, and reliable. Program Details Start Date: 08/31/2026 End Date: 06/03/2027 Schedule Monday: 8:00 am – 2:45 pm Tuesday: 8:00 am – 12:15 pm Wednesday: 8:00 am – 2:45 pm Thursday: 8:00 am – 2:45 pm Friday: 8:00 am – 2:45 pm Saturday: No work Compensation & Equal Opportunity Statement Expected hourly rate: $28. This position’s target annual base pay range is $25.00 - $35.00 per hour. Final pay depends on experience, education, location, and skills.
