Responsibilities As OR Supervisor, you will oversee the daily operations of the ORs and sterile processing workflow, ensuring precision, efficiency, and the highest level of care. Lead OR & Sterile Processing Operations Oversee daily OR workflow, case preparation, and room readiness Ensure strict adherence to aseptic technique and sterility protocols Manage surgical instruments, equipment, and inventory, including implants and supplies Coordinate with surgeons, sterile processing, and materials management teams Maintain and troubleshoot OR equipment, including coordinating repairs Support Surgical Excellence Assist surgeons during procedures and anticipate case needs Ensure surgical teams meet table times and maintain efficient case flow Oversee patient preparation, surgical setup, and post‑procedure readiness Maintain accuracy and attention to detail across all surgical processes Train and Develop the Team Lead training for surgical technicians and assistants in OR protocols and best practices Develop and maintain training materials, SOPs, and infection control protocols Support onboarding and skill development of new team members Partner with leadership to ensure consistent training and performance standards Maintain sterilization processes and ensure all instruments meet compliance standards Monitor inventory, sterilization cycles, and equipment maintenance logs Ensure adherence to OSHA, DEA, and hospital safety standards Identify workflow improvements to enhance efficiency and patient care What We’re Looking For 5–10 years of experience in a surgical or operating room environment (veterinary preferred) Strong knowledge of aseptic technique, surgical instrumentation, and sterilization processes Proven ability to lead, train, and develop team members High attention to detail with strong organizational and problem‑solving skills Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast‑paced setting Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed Why This Role Matters This role is critical to the success of our surgical service, directly impacting patient outcomes, team development, and operational efficiency. Work Environment & Physical Requirements Requires standing for extended periods, lifting (with assistance as needed), and working in a clinical environment with exposure to animals, medical equipment, and surgical conditions. Anticipated Schedule This is a full‑time position – Monday – Friday – 8am–4pm. Holidays are required.
