Allegion is seeking a skilled and passionate Senior Firmware Engineer to join a highly engaged team within a global organization of 14,000+ employees, representing 30+ brands (including Schlage, Von Duprin, and LCN) focused on safety, security, and access management. You'll play a crucial role creating solutions that enable seamless access - keeping people safe and secure where they work, live, and thrive. This is a hybrid role based in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role places significant emphasis on test strategy, automation, and quality ownership to ensure reliable, high-confidence firmware releases.

What you will do:

• Design, develop, and debug firmware for platform assets used in multiple access control scenarios.
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks for firmware testing covering static analysis, unit, integration, and regression testing.
• Measure and increase test coverage over time, making sure to emulate edge cases and failure scenarios.
• With assistance from other teams, design and maintain automated hardware-in-the-loop test hardware to support regression testing. This will include everything from verifying wireless network functionality to testing sensor behavior.
• Identify, document, troubleshoot, and resolve firmware issues.
• Monitor and analyze test results, creating detailed test reports and quality metrics to ensure continuous improvement in firmware quality.
• Improve quality, robustness, and rigor of firmware platform code.
• Perform design & code analysis utilizing appropriate tools

What we are looking for:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5 plus years of firmware engineering experience
• Experience working with ARM Cortex-M series.
• Experience working with Real Time Operating Systems
• Proficiency in Python and C with strong analytical skills to debug, troubleshoot, and isolate complex issues across firmware and hardware.
• Ability to read schematics and work with and automate electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and voltmeters.
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies, best practices, and testing frameworks, with the ability to tailor processes for high-quality firmware releases.
• Experience working in a collaborative environment with agile development processes.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to document and convey complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
• Passion for developing IoT solutions at the intersection of electronics hardware, mobile applications (iOS and Android), and cloud technologies.
• Preferred experience with communication protocols (Wi-Fi, BLE, and Thread), and analyzing network packet sniffers and logs.
• Knowledge of CI/CD systems, version control, and test-driven development.
