Carpenter

We are seeking experienced carpenters to join a growing construction team specializing in commercial renovations, tenant improvements, and new construction projects. This role requires hands-on carpentry experience, proficiency with hand and power tools, and the ability to perform installation, framing support, blocking, backing, and other general carpentry tasks. Responsibilities

• Perform carpentry work on renovation and new construction projects.
• Measure, cut, and install framing, backing, plywood, blocking, and other carpentry materials.
• Read and interpret tape measurements, blueprints, and construction drawings.
• Install temporary walls, decking, site protection, and board-up systems as needed.
• Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
• Move, stage, and organize materials to support project workflow.
• Complete site preparation, light demolition, and job site cleanup tasks.
• Work closely with project supervisors and other trades to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
• Follow all company and job site safety standards.

Skills & Qualifications

• Carpentry experience in new construction, renovation, or tenant improvement projects
• Ability to read and accurately use a tape measure
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and construction drawings
• Proficient with hand tools and power tools, including drills, impact drivers, circular saws, and reciprocating saws
• Experience with framing, blocking, backing, plywood installation, and general carpentry work
• Ability to work safely and efficiently on active commercial construction sites
• Strong understanding of construction safety practices and PPE requirements
• Ability to lift and carry materials throughout an 8-10 hour workday
• Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Personal hand tools and power tools.
• OSHA 10 certification

Work Environment

The role is based on active construction job sites in the Chicagoland area, with work performed both outdoors and indoors. The position involves consistent physical manual labor, including lifting, carrying, and moving materials throughout the day. You will work around various trades and subcontractors, using hand tools and power tools in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Workdays typically range from 8 to 10 hours, and you should be prepared for changing weather conditions and standard construction-site attire appropriate for manual labor.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Schaumburg, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
