Project Engineer – Heavy Civil / Bridge Construction
West Haven, CT

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Project Engineer/Sr. Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of complex, multi-million-dollar heavy civil and bridge projects in the West Haven, CT area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support project execution from preconstruction through closeout on large-scale heavy civil and bridge projects
• Promote and uphold a safety-first culture in all aspects of the project
• Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules, including CPM scheduling and updates
• Support budgeting, cost tracking, forecasting, and resource planning (labor, equipment, materials)
• Manage project documentation including RFIs, submittals, and as-built drawings
• Coordinate with field teams, superintendents, subcontractors, and project stakeholders
• Assist with subcontractor procurement, buyout, and management
• Track production quantities, cost coding, and daily reporting
• Provide technical support including plan interpretation and construction methods
• Support quality control, inspections, and project closeout

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of experience in heavy civil construction, with bridge/highway project experience preferred
• Experience working on CDOT projects strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of construction processes, scheduling, and cost control
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam (HCSS, Vista, P6, or CAD a plus)
• Valid driver’s license and ability to work in field-based environments
