Role: Senior Industrial Analytics Engineer (Manufacturing Modelling)

Rate: $55/hr (negotiable based on experience and engagement type)

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly analytical and results-driven Senior Industrial Engineering Analytics & Manufacturing Modeling Lead to develop and deploy end-to-end industrial engineering models that drive capacity planning, labor optimization, cost reduction, and operational excellence across manufacturing operations. This role combines industrial engineering, manufacturing analytics, simulation modeling, and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have deep experience in factory operations, throughput optimization, labor and cost modeling, and the ability to translate complex operational data into actionable business recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

Manufacturing & Capacity Modeling

• Develop and maintain capacity models to support production planning, factory expansion, and network optimization.
• Analyze OEE, cycle times, bottlenecks, utilization, throughput, and production constraints.
• Perform line balancing and resource optimization to maximize operational efficiency.
• Identify and evaluate opportunities for automation and process improvement.

Labor & Cost Analytics

• Build detailed labor models, staffing plans, and workforce productivity analyses.
• Develop cost models including COGS, labor overhead (LOH), and operational expenses.
• Conduct financial evaluations using ROI, NPV, IRR, payback period, and business case methodologies.
• Quantify the financial impact of operational improvement initiatives.

Simulation & Process Optimization

• Create and validate discrete-event simulation models using FlexSim, AnyLogic, Simio, or equivalent tools.
• Evaluate production scenarios, capacity changes, facility layouts, and process improvements through simulation.
• Support factory design, expansion planning, and operational transformation initiatives.

Manufacturing Data Analytics

• Integrate and analyze data from MES, ERP, shop-floor systems, and manufacturing databases.
• Develop dashboards, KPIs, and reporting solutions using Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools.
• Utilize advanced analytics techniques to identify trends, inefficiencies, and optimization opportunities.
• Support forecasting, sensitivity analysis, and scenario planning activities.

Material Flow & Supply Chain Modeling

• Develop PFEP (Plan for Every Part) strategies and material flow models.
• Analyze inventory movement, replenishment strategies, and warehouse-to-line-side logistics.
• Optimize material handling and production support processes.

Advanced Analytics & AI

• Apply predictive analytics, machine learning, and AI-based approaches to improve operational performance.
• Develop forecasting and optimization models for production, labor, and capacity planning.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and digital manufacturing solutions.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Partner with Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Finance, Continuous Improvement, and Engineering teams.
• Present analytical findings, recommendations, and business cases to leadership.
• Lead cross-functional projects focused on productivity, cost reduction, and operational excellence.
