High School Custodian

School Principal and Director of Facilities and School SafetySalary: $21 to $ 25 per hourPosition Overview:The School Custodian provides custodial services at the assigned site; ensuring an attractive, sanitary, and safe environment for students, staff, and visitors. The School Custodian is an important part of the FLACS family, working to ensure the readiness of FLACS schools. Under the supervision of the building's Principal, Head Custodians, and Network Supervisor who will provide an annual evaluation.Key Responsibilities:Clean assigned facilities and/or grounds (e.g. classrooms, offices, gym, restrooms, multipurpose rooms, grounds, etc.) to maintain a sanitary, safe, and attractive environment while adhering to maximum safety procedures.Move books, files, boxes, furniture, etc.Clean and sterilize all high-use areas to reduce the spread of bacteria and any other harmful agents.Travel to nearby schools or warehouse/storage as required.Perform maintenance of the building, such as drywall repairs; minor carpentry; classroom furniture; replacing light bulbs, & fixtures; painting projects; ceiling tile replacement; playground maintenance, athletic areas, grounds repairs; equipment audits, building inspections; safety issues, repairs; small landscaping projects; additional items as they arise.Participate in meetings, workshops, training, and seminars to convey and/or gather information required to perform job functions.Maintain exterior of the sites, including snow/ice removal, trash removal, etc. as neededCarry a handheld radio at all times while on school property if assigned by the SupervisorFollow federal and state laws, as well as company policies.Report and assist with all emergencies as needed.Perform other related duties as assigned.Professional Responsibilities:Uphold the FLACS' mission, core beliefs, and educational philosophy.Reflect on their practice and be a lifelong learner to improve effectiveness and guide professional growthEngage and collaborate with colleagues and the community to develop and sustain a common culture that supports high expectations.Display evidence of self-motivation and willingness to be a team playerMaintains excellent time and attendanceQualifications:Minimum high school graduate required with continuing education construction or facilities related preferred but not required.Very good physical condition and strength.
