About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (07:00 - 19:30) Experience: 2 years of experience required License: Active compact license accepted Certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, ACLS (preferred) Must-Have: Epic experience required Description: Reduced Non-Billable Orientation. Locals accepted at the same rate. Applicants with prior experience from other facilities are eligible for this position if they have been separated for at least three months. Two years of experience required, with preference for candidates with prior charge experience. Epic experience is required for charting. Must have skills in the administration of blood and blood products, anticoagulation therapy, and antihypertensives. Candidates must assist with high-risk deliveries and circulate for C-sections. Unit performs between 200-300 facility births per month. Candidates should be proficient in labor and delivery, magnesium sulfate therapy, and maintaining central lines. They should have experience in pain assessment and management, sterile vaginal exams, and triage of obstetrical patients. The staffing ratio is 1:1-3. Floating to post-partum and NICU based on skill set is required. Candidates must attend all deliveries and high-risk deliveries, as well as GYN surgeries. Interdisciplinary support is available in the unit. Patient diagnoses primarily include labor and preterm labor. The unit is equipped with eight labor rooms and four triage rooms. Candidates must perform various special procedures, including blood and blood products administration, cardioversion, defibrillation, and the use of various pumps. References will be required during the compliance process prior to starting the position. Modules related to this position are non-billable. Time spent on modules is self-reported, and completion is recorded.
