District Manager

Overview District Manager: Oversee and manage the CDS operations of multiple Costco retail locations within a designated district. Ensure that each warehouse location meets CDS standards for sales, customer service, safety and operational efficiency. Drive business growth, manage budgets, implement CDS Operational Excellence strategies, and ensure overall success of the district. Monitor performance, address operational issues, manage staffing levels, build rapport with Costco GMs, and ensure compliance with Advantage policies and industry regulations. Responsibilities Ensure warehouse locations meet CDS standards for sales, customer service, safety and operational efficiency by: Conduct regular location visits and audits to ensure adherence to SOPs and company policies; hold Events Managers accountable for misses and recognize wins Partner with the safety department to ensure adherence to standard safety procedures and prioritize a safety-first culture Implement and uphold company policies and procedures; provide oversight and administrative support for operational activities (supplies ordering, systems needs, etc.) Develop relationships with Costco managers and team members through regular, in-person conversations Drive business growth by adopting Operational Excellence strategies and helping teams understand their importance Leverage data and insights to manage profitability, budgets, staffing, and performance in a disciplined manner, in partnership with the manager Monitor performance, coach and manage Event Managers Address operational issues, coach, document, and hold accountable Workforce Management Manage and develop a roster of high-performing Event Managers; support appropriate staffing levels and navigate talent resources and budgets Foster a culture of accountability and high performance; ensure adherence to policies and procedures Ensure compliance with Advantage policies and industry regulations Strategic Alignment Execute performance aligned with organizational strategy goals; communicate with Regional Director with transparency Leverage organizational resources; participate in regional initiatives Communicate strategic messages and operational needs as a mature leader with business interests in mind Supervisory Responsibilities Direct Reports: Hires, trains, coaches, and develops direct reports using company-wide processes, tools and resources Indirect Reports: May delegate work and provide guidance and mentoring to indirect reports Minimum Qualifications Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience 5+ years of experience in a client-side, branded consumer-packaged goods company; or a combination of supplier-side and client-side experience Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills Supervising skills, including delegating responsibility, training, and evaluating performance Well organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle a fast-paced work environment Track record of building and maintaining customer/client relationships Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports Decision making skills Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Outlook, and web browsers NEHA Professional Food Handler Certification required Environmental & Physical Requirements Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work may be performed in an office, field, retail store, or warehouse environment. Typically requires the ability to spend 66%+ of each work day performing activities such as standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and travel as required. Exposure to cold environments (refrigerated/freezer sections) may occur. Proper safety practices must be followed. Additional Information Job duties include additional responsibilities as assigned.
