About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 14 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years of experience required License: Compact or state license required at time of submission Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: Strong attention to detail Must have experience caring for post-op surgical patients, especially in Orthopedics and Gastrointestinal surgeries. Experience with wound vacs and solid orthopedic experience is required. Description: This is a telemetry unit caring for orthopedic, spine, general surgery, and bariatric patients. The unit typically receives 10-20 post-operative patients daily. Nursing requirements include both medical and surgical skillsets. Nurses must have experience with cardiac and oxygen monitoring capabilities. Ideal candidates should be comfortable with multiple admissions and discharges per shift. Candidates will float to other units within their skillset as needed. This is a fast-paced unit with a high turnover rate. Candidates are required to complete competency and skills assessments during onboarding. Medications and pharmacology knowledge is essential. Candidates must adhere to compliance requirements that include exams during the onboarding process. Experience in managing dysrhythmias and telemetry is essential for this role. Floating within the hospital or to an affiliate facility may be required.
