RWE Americas, LLC – To start as soon as possible, full time, permanent. Functional area: Operations & Maintenance Remuneration: Exempt The Manager, O&M Region West is responsible for the safe, reliable and compliant operation and maintenance of renewable energy generation projects. The Manager, O&M will oversee plant personnel and manage daily administration, operation, planned and corrective maintenance, and event response for assigned assets. The role ensures all operations and maintenance activities comply with industry best practices, safety practices, company and owner procedures, plans, guidelines, and all pertinent state and federal laws, including NERC compliance when applicable. Role Responsibilities Oversee production and ensure plants operate within design parameters in a reliable, safe and efficient manner Ensure facility processes and procedures are adhered to and remain compliant with all applicable rules, regulations and laws Monitor production to verify plants meet performance expectations Coordinate and resolve operational abnormalities Ensure timely maintenance and repair of plant components and resolve arising problems Perform preventive/predictive maintenance to assure long‑term profitability, plant reliability and risk minimization Collaborate with cross‑functional groups to prepare operating budgets, monitor and control costs, procure equipment replacements and service contractors, and approve purchase orders within approved limits Ensure plant staff completes required safety and functional training Foster a collaborative team environment across RWEA projects for optimal safety, operations, maintenance, and performance Technical Support Perform operational analysis to support Asset Management and Project Development functions Review daily, weekly, monthly and annual operational reports Technical Expertise Stay abreast of regulations, codes and standards relevant to the industry Develop relationships with suppliers for beneficial synergies General Act as local company and owner liaison, develop long‑range plans, and engage local civic groups as required Attend meetings on behalf of the company and host facility visits as required Job Requirements and Experiences Two‑ or four‑year college degree in Business or a technical hard science (Engineering, Physics, Power, or closely similar) from an accredited U.S. school (except correspondence or internet) Current journeyman or master electrician license may substitute for two years of experience NABCEP certification or electrical license preferred Minimum five years of work experience in operations and/or maintenance of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems, including at least two years in the renewables industry managing plants Minimum two years in a lead or supervisory position Minimum two years managing facilities and personnel Complete understanding of substation equipment, functions and maintenance requirements Complete understanding of NERC as it applies to a power plant, substation, PRCs, MODs, CIPs, etc. Complete understanding of plant operations, environmental rules, SPCC, emergency plans, etc. Knowledge of industry standards, OSHA regulations and environmental regulations Knowledge of energy markets and market procedures Experience interacting with regulatory agencies (CAISO, CPUC, PG&E, etc.) Experience working with California employment labor laws and regulations Experience managing, troubleshooting, and working with SCADA/DAS/CMMS systems Strong people‑leadership experience Experience managing through change Demonstrated ability to adhere to safety processes and procedures Unrestricted driver’s license in good standing required Understanding of solar and battery energy plant equipment and principles of operation and maintenance requirements Able to guide operations site teams toward accomplishing objectives Must motivate site teams to complete assignments efficiently and effectively Able to operate in a cross‑functional environment Skilled in human relations, conflict resolution and facilitation in a team environment Knowledge of power electronics and circuitry Knowledge of power generation technologies and equipment Willing to work on weekends and off‑shift as required Ability to work within tight deadlines and evolving schedules Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to manage customer relationships Demonstrated desire to learn about the company and the renewables space Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams Experience in using maintenance management platforms (SAP, COMBAT, Tableau, KPA Flex preferred) Strong leadership and communication, with ability to meet deadlines Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables Ability to multi‑task while working independently and as part of a team Motivated self‑starter, goal‑oriented and strong problem‑solving abilities Proven ability to empathize, build relationships and effectively communicate with people from diverse backgrounds Responds well to direction, is easy to challenge, develop and coachable Detail‑oriented, strong business acumen and sound understanding of business concepts Physical Requirements Must be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations Ability and willingness to travel to and from job sites as assigned, including supporting other sites Ability to work in varying climates as required This position is an office‑based role with some travel and visits to other RWE Americas offices and field locations Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. RWE Americas is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time. Pay Range The annual base salary range for this position in California is $114,000 – $170,000. The listed salary range represents a general guideline and is determined by scope, responsibilities, candidate education and work experience, training and certifications, and market and business considerations at the time of offer.
