\n BASIC PURPOSE \n\nMechanic will be responsible for the troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of the Fleet road equipment including tractor, trailer, thermo-king, converter dolly and maintenance vehicles. Ensure compliance with all State and Federal trucking regulations. Mechanics will also be responsible for the documentation, completion, and to keep current the maintenance logs for all repairs and parts used daily. The position will be required to perform road rescue as needed.\n \n \n

BASIC PURPOSE: To provide a safe and reliable fleet by performing preventative maintenance and proper repairs on all fleet equipment.
\nMechanic will be responsible for the troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of the Fleet road equipment including tractor, trailer, thermo-king, converter dolly and maintenance vehicles. Ensure compliance with all State and Federal trucking regulations. Mechanics will also be responsible for the documentation, completion, and to keep current the maintenance logs for all repairs and parts used daily. \n \nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace and complete all required repairs on diesel equipment (i.e., tractors, trailers, bobtails, lift gates, etc.).
\n - \n
Perform preventative maintenance within DOT standards.
\n - \n
Receive road calls, assign third party vendor, and work with business partners on plan of action.
\n - \n
Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules/regulations and government guidelines.
\n - \n
Utilize fleet maintenance software system tablet to fully document equipment repair and parts used.
\n - \n
Backup to other maintenance shop personnel.
\n - \n
Willingness and capacity to assume increased responsibility and certificates.
\n - \n
Other duties as assigned by manager.
\n
QUALIFICATIONS
\n- \n

Must have 3 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic.
\n - \n
Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to equipment repairs.
\n - \n
Successfully demonstrated independent analytical and problem-solving skills.
\n - \n
Prior experience in administering appropriate PM program.
\n - \n
Must furnish own personal hand tools.
\n - \n
Able to read and write legibly (e.g., to attend trainings, hold conversations, receive safety and job-related coaching, and enter information on reports if needed); basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, divide).
\n - \n
High school diploma or equivalent required.
\n - \n
Must possess a valid driver's license.
\n - \n
Valid Class-A CDL license and DOT certification PREFERRED
\n - \n
Experience using fleet maintenance software PREFERRED
\n - \n
Welding ability PREFERRED
\n

Onsite : The associate in this role is expected to perform assigned responsibilities inside a US Foods maintenance facility.
\n - \n
Must be willing to work in extreme temperatures and weather conditions.
\n

\n3 (Grasp Objects: Hand truck, boxes, cartons, steering wheel)
\n4 (Manipulate Objects: Boxes, dolly, metal truck ramp, hand truck, paperwork, truck gate, straps)
\n5 (Manual Dexterity: Typing, use of office machines such as copiers, printers)
\n \nCompensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state minimum wage thresholds). The expected base rate for this role is between $25 and $35. This role may also receive overtime compensation.
