Materials Process Engineer

MAU is hiring a Materials Process Engineer for our client in Greenville, SC. This role plays a critical role in optimizing the materials flow process. You will be responsible for developing and implementing LEAN principles, ensuring system health, training personnel, and managing material handling equipment. This is a long‑term assignment with potential for direct hire. Benefits Package PTO Competitive pay based on experience Shift Information Fully onsite – Day shift: 7am-4pm Desired Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing or materials management environment preferred Demonstrated understanding of LEAN principles and methodologies. Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills. Strong communication, interpersonal, and training skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Roles and Responsibilities Lead improvement efforts for process controls, tooling, and ergonomic solutions Manage projects and continuous improvement efforts in accordance with plant metrics. Initiate and process Non‑Conformance Notification (NCNs) and help drive proper disposition. Work cross‑functionally to support LEAN activities and new technologies. Maintain and improve process documentation to ensure consistent quality. Develop machine, fixture, and tooling strategies for new product introduction Modify/Update work instructions (methods) & shop floor routings/steps to support operator/assembler training and process control Mentor assemblers as needed Essential Functions Develop and Implement LEAN Material Flow Analyze current material flow processes to identify areas for improvement. Design and implement LEAN solutions to optimize efficiency, reduce waste, and improve cycle time. Develop and document standardized work procedures for material handling. Monitor System Health & Implementation Continuously monitor the effectiveness of LEAN processes. Conduct audits to ensure adherence to standardized work procedures. Identify and address any deviations or non‑conformances. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to implement corrective actions. Training and Development Develop and deliver training programs for warehouse personnel on LEAN principles and standardized work procedures. Coach and mentor warehouse staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to execute their roles effectively. Material Management Manage the inventory of material movement totes, bins, and carts. Oversee the repair and replacement of damaged material handling equipment.
