What Application Development & Maintenance contributes to Cardinal Health

Information Technology oversees the effective development, delivery, and operation of computing and information services. This function anticipates, plans, and delivers Information Technology solutions and strategies that enable operations and drive business value.

Application Development & Maintenance performs configuration or coding to develop, enhance and sustain the organization's software systems in a cross-functional team environment through adherence to established design control processes and good engineering practices. This job family programs and configures end user applications, systems, databases and websites to achieve the organization's internal needs and externally-facing business needs. Application Development & Maintenance partners with business leaders, investigates user needs and conducts regular assessments, maintenance and enhancements of existing applications.

Responsibilities

• Solution Architecture & Design: Design scalable, maintainable Salesforce solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards, with a strong focus on Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) , Data Cloud (Data360) , and cross-cloud integrations.

• End-to-End Implementation: Own end-to-end solution design for multi-cloud implementations, bridging Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Marketing Cloud to create unified customer journeys.

• Data Strategy & Personalization: Configure Data Cloud (Data 360) ingestion pipelines (DLO/DMO), Identity Resolution, and real-time segmentation to build unified customer profiles for omnichannel campaigns.

• Integration & APIs: Design and implement seamless integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, Marketing Cloud Connect, and Middleware tools (e.g., MuleSoft, Boomi, APIGEE, MFT, and Attunity).

• Strategic Alignment: Anticipate, plan, and deliver IT solutions that support enterprise strategic goals. Provide solution architecture to various projects in adherence to the overall Sales, Service, and Marketing Strategy.

• Collaboration: Work closely with Enterprise Architects, Solution/Product Owners, and Marketing Stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into detailed technical architecture patterns and data models.

• Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance to a hybrid team of onshore/offshore resources (including contractors and FTEs).

• Quality Assurance: Conduct code/design reviews (including AMPScript, SQL, and Automation Studio workflows), ensure solutions are optimized for performance, scalability, and security, and drive the adoption of best practices and reusable frameworks.

Qualifications

• 8-12 years of experience in Salesforce ecosystem ideally within a Salesforce Architect, Senior Engineer, or similar role, preferred.

• Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred.

• Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) - Journey Builder, Automation Studio, AMPScript, and Contact Builder.

• Salesforce Data Cloud / Data 360 - Data ingestion, mapping, unification, and activation.

• Cross-Cloud Integrations bridging SFMC with Sales Cloud and Service Cloud.

• SQL logic, data flow design, and complex audience segmentation.

• Agentforce and emerging AI marketing capabilities.

• Proven experience in MarTech solution design and multi-stream implementations.

• Experience working in enterprise-scale Salesforce environments (Build and Run projects).

• Familiarity with core Salesforce development (Apex & Lightning Web Components).

• Experience with B2B/B2C lead and case management processes.

• Relevant Salesforce Certifications (e.g., Marketing Cloud Consultant, Marketing Cloud Developer, Data Cloud Consultant).

Anticipated salary range: $123,400 - $176,300
