Physical Therapist Assistant

PTAs implement components of patient care. They obtain data related to the treatments provided. They collaborate with the PT to modify care as necessary. PTAs assist the physical therapist in the treatment of individuals of all ages, from newborns to people at the end of life. They help patients stretch and exercise certain muscle groups. They read instructions from the Physical Therapist. They work directly with the Physical Therapist to assist patients. They speak with families to find the best at-home techniques. They keep physical therapy areas clean and organized. They move patients from wheelchairs or walkers to the physical therapy area. They complete administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments and filing paperwork. They teach patients techniques like balance training.
