Reporting to our Head of Commercial Legal or a Senior Legal Counsel, you will have a chance to help shape the company's legal function, build processes and policies, and partner with Sales, Finance, Product, and Engineering teams, as well as other attorneys. Socure's Legal team is part of the Financial Operations Center of Excellence organization, and we pride ourselves on best-in-class legal counsel contributing to Socure's mission to eliminate identity fraud.Job ResponsibilitiesAdvise on a broad range of commercial matters, serving as legal partner to Sales, Customer Success, Finance,Security, and Product on deal structure, contract negotiations, risk, and complianceReview, draft, negotiate, and interpret a wide range of technology and commercial contracts, including SaaS agreements, partner/reseller agreements, NDAs, evaluation agreements, and vendor contractsIndependently identify and resolve legal and regulatory risks related to IP, licensing, data use, privacy, and compliance in commercial contractsBecome an expert on Socure's products and business models, and help bring new offerings to marketIdentify and advise on risk, and offer creative, pragmatic risk-mitigation solutionsPrepare, maintain, and improve template agreements, playbooks, and operational guidance to help the sales and legal teams move fasterUse AI tools as part of your everyday contract workflow — including AI-assisted drafting, redlining, and review — to accelerate turnaround on sales contracts, and surface ideas for where automation could further improve the team's efficiencyEnsure that customer contract terms addressing data usage rights or restrictions are consistent with the rightsSocure has secured under its underlying data-acquisition and vendor agreements, coordinating as needed with theSenior Corporate Counsel, Data Acquisition & Licensing, the Data Acquisition team, Product Counsel, and PrivacyJob RequirementsJD from an accredited law school and active Bar membership in good standing4-8 years of post-JD experience independently negotiating SaaS, technology, licensing, partner, and vendor agreements with minimal oversightWorking knowledge of consumer
