Job Details Position Type: Maintenance/Custodial/ Custodian Date Posted: 7/7/2026 Location: Littlestown High School Date Available: Upon Board Approval Job Title Custodian, 2nd Shift ($14.65/hr) Qualification Requirements Knowledge in the area of cleaning and the appropriate use of equipment and/or chemicals assigned for specific duties Some aptitude for repairing Physical ability for lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs Demonstrate initiative for cleaning assigned areas Accept oral or written communication from supervisor Ability to communicate with co‑workers and professional staff Job Goal To thoroughly learn the specific duties of the position To maintain a clean, healthy environment for students, faculty, and visitors To keep the building clean and in good repair To maintain the grounds Essential Duties and Responsibilities Vacuum carpeted areas Dry mop and wet mop appropriate areas Clean all lavatory fixtures Collect and dispose of refuse Clean chalk boards, chalk trays, and white boards as needed Clean all glass areas including mirrors and window sills Remove snow/ice from sidewalks Remove refuse, mow, and trim grass areas immediate to the building Prepare gymnasium and other areas for use by outside groups Lock all interior and exterior doors before leaving Keep all unoccupied classrooms and custodial closets locked Assist the head custodian in making repairs Remove any spills or stains from floors, stairwells, and hallways Dust bookshelves and counter tops in classrooms Clean classrooms nightly Clean gym area Clean locker rooms Perform all other related duties as assigned by the head custodian or building principal Pre‑employment Requirements State Police Clearance (Act 34) – complete online and print results immediately Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151) – submit electronically FBI Fingerprints (Act 114) – call View phone number on click.appcast.io use service code 1KG6XN School Health Record – includes physical & TB test from within a year Act 24 (PDE Form 6004) – Arrest/Conviction Report PA Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Release – separate forms for Current employer All former employers that were school entities All former employers where you were in a position involving direct contact with children Contact Information Reports to: Head Custodian, Facilities Manager #J-18808-Ljbffr Littlestown Area School District
