Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

What you'll need to succeed:
- Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher (appropriate to New York State requirements)
- Experience working with medically fragile or high-needs students preferred
- Strong understanding of individualized instruction and adapting curriculum
- Compassion, patience, and excellent communication skills
- Ability to collaborate closely with healthcare staff, families, and educational teams
What your days will look like:
- Provide 1:1 educational instruction to a single elementary-age student for 2-3 hours each day
- Design and implement individualized lesson plans based on the student's IEP and academic goals
- Monitor and document the student's progress, collaborating with care teams as needed
- Adjust teaching strategies to accommodate the student's medical and cognitive needs
- Foster a supportive and encouraging learning environment within the nursing home setting
