Role Description The Campus Police Officer is a full-time, on-site role located at Curry College Milton, MA. This position is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure campus environment through regular patrols of campus grounds, facilities, and residence halls. The Campus Police Officer responds to calls for service, conducts preliminary investigations, manages incidents, and prepares clear, accurate reports. Daily responsibilities include enforcing college policies and applicable laws, assisting with emergency responses, preserving evidence, and supporting crime prevention and safety education initiatives for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The role also involves collaborating with local law enforcement and campus departments, providing courteous assistance to the campus community, and participating in ongoing training to maintain professional standards. Qualifications Demonstrated knowledge and experience in law enforcement, including prior experience as a Police Officer or Campus Police Officer. Ability to conduct basic criminal investigations, including interviewing, incident documentation, and proper handling and preservation of evidence. Understanding of police procedures, criminal law, and relevant Massachusetts statutes and regulations applicable to campus settings. Strong communication, interpersonal, and de-escalation skills, with the ability to interact respectfully with a diverse campus community. Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain composure in emergencies, and follow established safety and security protocols. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or related field preferred. Ability to meet physical demands of the role, including foot patrols and response to emergencies in all weather conditions. Eligibility to obtain and maintain required certifications and licenses (e.g., CPR/First Aid, police academy or equivalent training, valid driver’s license) as defined by Curry College and state regulations.
