Responsible for assisting physician in performing exercise and pharmacological stress tests. Performs patient preparation to include lead placement, patient instruction/education. Monitors patient throughout procedure and observes for changes in patient condition. Participates in report generation, as well as charting and delivery of reports to staff assistant for processing. Requires excellent communication skills among co-workers, hospital staff, and physicians. Also performs routine EKG's upon successful completion of competencies. This position may scan holters if competency is demonstrated in rhythm recognition Qualifications

EDUCATION:

Minimum: High School diploma or Equivalent Preferred: Associate’s degree in physical or biological science. Experience Prefer one (1) year previous hospital experience, but will train. Prefer certified EKG tech/course or EEG course Required Certification/Licensure/Registration AHA BLS certification required; AHA ACLS required for stress testing Other Qualifications Computer knowledge/experience Organization Description Delray Medical Center, part of the Palm Beach Health Network, is a 536-bed acute care hospital spanning 30 acres, employing over 1,700 employees, 700 physicians and serving southern Palm Beach County for over 40 years.
