About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Experience in managing patient ratios of 1:6 Description: This position requires working on the AM shift and every other weekend. There will be a holiday rotation, and the staff member must work a holiday during that rotation. Staff members are assigned to groups for self-scheduling. These groups are rotated every scheduling period, which occurs weekly. The position will require floating to cover staffing needs when necessary. On the first day, the RN will take a drug screening and then leave. The RN's first shift will start on Tuesday. The expected patient ratio is 1:6. First-time travelers are accepted for this position. Every other weekend availability is required. The following skills are necessary: Accessing and managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, and blood product administration. Central line blood draws and chest tube management are also required. Care and management of colostomies/ileostomies, feeding tubes, and heparin are essential. Experience in high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), insulin administration, and isolation precautions is needed. Med/surg experience is preferred, as well as starting and maintaining IVs and telemetry remote monitoring. Wound care and wound vac management is also necessary. The unit cares for adult and geriatric patients. Daily census is approximately 20 patients. Support services include physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Candidate must adhere to a zero-tolerance policy for THC. Medical marijuana cards are not accepted. Fit testing is required, and candidates must comply with shaving requirements for this process.
