Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Full-Time | Days | Onsite | Multiple shifts available: 0630–1500, 1100–1930, and 1400–2230, Monday–Friday

Key Responsibilities

• Provide routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process — assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — for assigned operating room patients
• Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments
• Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and in a timely manner
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers; identify issues and connect with appropriate resources
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed to effectively manage clinical situations

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of employment or a valid compact RN license
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in an Operating Room or surgical nursing specialty
• Experience with GI procedures is highly important, as OR staff cover GI cases both during the week and on call
• Familiarity with a broad range of surgical service lines including general surgery, urology, gynecology, vascular, orthopedics, neurosurgery, reconstructive plastics, and podiatry
• Experience with robotic surgery platforms including Xi, DV5, and ION

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• EPIC electronic health record experience highly preferred
• Cardiovascular surgical experience is a plus
