School Van Driver

Essential Functions

Complete a safety check of the school van as required by the State of Ohio Regulation 3301-83-11 before each run.

Responsible for safe operating conditions and cleanliness of the van.

Maintain routes, stops and time schedules as established by the supervisor. Make suggestions for more efficient routing but permission must be granted by the transportation supervisor prior to any change.

Prepare and maintain reports, route maps, schedules, pupil lists and accident reports as required by the State of Ohio, Ohio Department of Education and the Board of Education.

Conducts all work in a safe and responsible manner.

Conduct other duties as assigned by the administration.

Education and Experience

Valid driver's license with school van certification.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Must meet requirements of the Ohio Department of Education and the district's Board Policy.

Completion of satisfactory van certification program by a WLS Transportation Trainer.

Be physically qualified as determined by annual physical examination required by the State of Ohio.

Passage of the required drug test and passage of random drug tests.

Possess BCI and FBI clearances and enroll in Rapback

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Must conform to the ODE physical qualifications for school van drivers.

Demonstrates reliability, timeliness and good attendance.
