Experience: Director Salary: $100,000 - $150,000 per year Job Details Role Description The Franchise Automotive Dealer Group Controller is a full‑time, hybrid role based in Clovis, NM, with some flexibility for work from home. This role oversees financial operations across the dealership group, including general ledger management, monthly closes, and preparation and analysis of financial statements for multiple locations. The Controller ensures compliance with manufacturer, lender, and regulatory requirements, manages internal controls, and supports audits. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include overseeing accounting staff, reviewing reconciliations, monitoring cash flow, coordinating budgets and forecasts, and providing financial insights to executive leadership to support strategic decision‑making. The role also collaborates with department managers to improve processes, optimize profitability, and maintain accurate, timely reporting for all stores in the group. Qualifications Demonstrated expertise in automotive dealership accounting and financial management, including general ledger, financial statements, and month‑end closing across multiple rooftops. Strong skills in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting to support executive decision‑making and operational performance. Proficiency with dealership management systems (DMS), accounting software, and Excel, along with strong data analysis and reconciliation abilities. Knowledge of compliance requirements related to manufacturers, lenders, regulators, and internal controls, with experience supporting audits and risk management. Proven leadership capabilities in supervising and developing accounting teams, fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with dealership management, corporate leadership, and external partners. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field; CPA or equivalent professional certification is preferred. Prior experience as a Controller or senior accounting leader within a franchise automotive dealership or automotive group strongly preferred. Ability to work in a hybrid environment being able to travel and initially work in Clovis, NM, with future south Florida operations, managing priorities, meeting deadlines, and maintaining high levels of integrity and confidentiality.
