Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite | Weekends and holidays required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 42-bed Med-Surg Telemetry unit with a patient ratio of 1:6
• Care for patients with diagnoses including cardiac conditions, diabetes, CHF, COPD, renal conditions, general surgery, and orthopedics
• Administer and manage IV drips including insulin, heparin, and Lasix with proficiency
• Float to units of like or lesser acuity as needed based on census, including IMCU patients when required
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including RNs, LPNs, PCTs, CNAs, and unit secretaries

Required Qualifications

• Active North Carolina RN license or valid compact license — must be in hand at time of submission
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and CPI certifications — all must be in hand at time of submission
• Proficiency with insulin, heparin, and Lasix drip management
• Current Nursys report dated within the past 7 days required at time of submission

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Meditech electronic health record system
• Prior experience caring for IMCU-level patients
