Outpatient Mental Health Therapist – LPC, LCSW, or Resident in Counseling

Full-Time or Part-Time | Hybrid | Newport News, VA

Supreme Healing Psychological Services, PLLC is an established integrated behavioral health practice serving children, adolescents, adults, and families throughout Virginia. Our team is committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based, and holistic mental health care in a supportive and collaborative environment.

We provide psychiatric medication management and outpatient behavioral health services for individuals experiencing a wide range of mental health and co-occurring substance use concerns.

We are currently expanding our outpatient therapy program and are seeking a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Virginia Resident in Counseling to join our growing practice.

Residents in Counseling are encouraged to apply. LPC supervision is available through our practice.

Position Responsibilities

The therapist will provide outpatient behavioral health services including:

• Individual psychotherapy
• Initial clinical assessments and ongoing assessment of patient needs
• Development and implementation of individualized treatment plans
• Evidence-based therapeutic interventions
• Documentation of clinical services in accordance with practice, payer, and regulatory requirements
• Coordination of care with the psychiatric medication-management provider when clinically appropriate
• Identification and management of safety concerns and appropriate referrals to higher levels of care
• Collaboration with families, healthcare professionals, schools, and community resources when appropriate
• Participation in clinical consultation and supervision as applicable

Depending upon experience and credentials, clinicians may have opportunities to provide family therapy, group therapy, and services addressing co-occurring mental health and substance use concerns.

Required Qualifications

Applicants must meet one of the following:

• Current Virginia Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
• Current Virginia Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
• Current Virginia Resident in Counseling working toward LPC licensure

Applicants must be eligible to provide behavioral health services in Virginia within the scope of their respective license or registration.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous outpatient behavioral health experience
• Experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and/or families
• Experience treating depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, mood disorders, behavioral concerns, or other common outpatient psychiatric conditions
• Experience with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders
• Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) credential or substance use treatment experience is a plus
• Strong assessment, interviewing, treatment-planning, and documentation skills
• Knowledge of community behavioral health resources
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with an interdisciplinary treatment team
• Professional liability/malpractice insurance as required by the practice

Supreme Healing Psychological Services offers an opportunity for Residents in Counseling to build clinical experience in an established outpatient psychiatric practice while working toward independent LPC licensure.

Qualified LPC supervision is available through the practice for eligible Residents in Counseling.

Residents will have access to:

• Regular clinical supervision
• Case consultation
• Established patient referrals
• Experience treating a diverse outpatient population
• Collaboration with psychiatric medication management
• Opportunities to develop clinical skills and professional independence

Schedule

Part-time and full-time opportunities available.

This is a hybrid position offering a combination of:

• In-person services at our Newport News, Virginia office or Our Virginia Beach Location
• Telehealth services for appropriate Virginia patients
• Flexible scheduling based upon clinician availability and patient needs
