Obstetrics & Gynecology Physician

ATC West Healthcare Services is seeking a locum OB/GYN physician to provide urgent, short-term coverage across hospital call and potential clinic duties. The role requires flexibility to handle both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities, including labor and delivery care, with the possibility of ongoing assignments. Candidates must be comfortable working in a collaborative environment with support staff and handling a range of OB/GYN procedures. Dates / Schedule Coverage Period: May July (potential for extension) May Dates: 1 3, 6, 11, 14, 20 Clinic Days: May 7, 12, 21, 26 June Dates: 1, 4, 15, 18, 22, July Dates: 2, 4 5, 20 30 Call Ratio: 1:4 Schedule Notes: Mix of hospital call and optional clinic coverage If working clinic, no night call required afterward Job Details / Responsibilities Provide OB/GYN care in hospital (labor & delivery, postpartum) and clinic settings Perform procedures including: C-sections Vaginal deliveries Suction D&C Management of ectopic pregnancies, ovarian torsion, and abnormal bleeding Handle low- to moderate-risk cases (MFM manages high-risk patients) Respond to minimal call volume (average Work with: 4 physicians in practice OBHG hospitalist, surgical assistants, and nursing staff (3 4 per shift) Manage average 2 3 nursery admissions per day Use EPIC EMR system for documentation Laborist handles unreferred patients in hospital Coverage needed due to temporary provider absence Required Skills & Qualifications Board Certified in OB/GYN ( required ) Active Virginia medical license ( required ) Active VA DEA and CSR ( required ) ABOG certification and BLS ( required ) Ability to cover both clinic and call shifts ( required ) Availability for listed dates ( required ) Clean malpractice/background history (required for temporary privileges) Self-query NPDB report required at presentation Additional Notes: Credentialing typically takes days (temporary privileges possible) Preference for local candidates
