Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Weekend PositionAmatus Health is seeking an experienced and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team for a weekend position at our Bethlehem, NH location. The LPN will work under the direction of the Director of Nursing and Charge Nurses to provide high-quality nursing care and support to individuals receiving detoxification and behavioral health treatment services.Position SummaryThe Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients throughout the detoxification and recovery process. Responsibilities include nursing assessments, medication administration, patient monitoring, treatment planning support, and coordination with the medical and clinical treatment teams. The LPN plays a critical role in ensuring patient safety, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting positive patient outcomes.QualificationsCurrent and active LPN license in good standingMinimum of 1 year of experience in detox, behavioral health, psychiatric nursing, or a similar treatment environmentCurrent CPR certificationExperience administering medications orally, subcutaneously, and intramuscularly (IM)Ability to recognize signs and symptoms of withdrawal, medical instability, and psychiatric emergencies and respond appropriatelyStrong critical thinking skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervisionAbility to remain calm and respond effectively during emergency situationsAbility to physically respond quickly in emergency situationsFamiliarity with ASAM Criteria preferredFamiliarity with Joint Commission (JCAHO) Standards of Care for Behavioral Health preferredExperience using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systemsEssential Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe Detox Nurse is instrumental in guiding patients safely through the detoxification process under physician orders. This role includes educating patients regarding their treatment and condition while providing accurate clinical reporting to physicians, ARNPs, and the treatment team.Responsibilities include:Administering medications as prescribed by the medical teamPerforming nursing assessments during intake and dischargeConducting daily nursing assessments, including CIWA and COWS assessmentsMonitoring patient progress and documenting all changes in condition within the Electronic Health Record systemMaking independent clinical decisions within the scope of licensureCommunicating important clinical updates to the Charge Nurse, Chief Nursing Officer, and Medical Director as appropriateCompleting discharge assessments and required documentationFollowing Universal Infection Control Precautions and utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)Ensuring compliance with infection control and exposure prevention policiesReconciling medications at the end of each shiftMaintaining accurate controlled substance logs in accordance with state and federal regulationsProviding thorough shift-to-shift communication to ensure continuity of patient careSupporting a safe, respectful, and therapeutic treatment environmentWhy Join Amatus Health?At Amatus Health, we are committed to making a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals seeking recovery.
