Travel RN - ICU

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week travel assignment requiring 2+ years of ICU experience, ACLS/PALS/BLS certification, and travel experience.

Job Details

• Surgical Intensive Care Unit setting within a community hospital,
• Patient ratios of 1:2 to 1:3,
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM,
• Weekend shifts required,
• On-call responsibilities required,
• Floating to Med Surg required within scope of practice,
• Block scheduling accommodated,
• Meditech charting experience preferred,

Job Requirements

• Active OK or compact RN license required,
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required,
• Community hospital experience required,
• LTAC experience preferred,
• Prior travel nursing experience required,
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS,
• Preferred certifications: CPI, ISTAT, NIHSS,
• Skilled in IV therapy, central line and PICC line management, arterial line management, and blood product administration,
• Experience caring for ventilated patients, chest tube insertion/removal, HFNC, and ABG interpretation,
• Skilled in managing continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation, and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips,
• Experience with CVA/acute stroke management preferred,
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management,
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure,
• Experience with IV insulin protocols,
• Experience with post cardiac surgery care, cardiac catheterization/intervention, sheath removal, and VAD management,
• Two professional references required, which may be pending at time of consideration,

Additional Information

• Care for critically ill surgical ICU patients requiring advanced monitoring and intervention,
• Provide comprehensive care including infection prevention and isolation precautions/PPE,
• Local candidates not considered; must reside outside a 45-mile radius from the facility,
• Travel pairs accepted,
• No restrictions on requested time off
