Senior Staff Accountant

Senior Staff Accountant | Contract to Hire

Arlington Heights, IL

We're working with a company in the northwest suburbs that is looking to add a Senior Staff Accountant on a contract basis. This role will support month-end close, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and general accounting operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations
• Assist with month-end and year-end close
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
• Analyze financial data and research variances
• Support financial statement preparation
• Assist with audits and compliance requirements
• Reconcile bank accounts, fixed assets, accruals, and prepaid expenses
• Work with multiple departments to ensure accurate financial reporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3+ years of accounting experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience with ERP systems preferred
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• CPA or CPA-track is a plus

Compensation

• $34-47 hourly rate based on experience.
