Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Manager Location: Athens Boat Club - Dawsonville, GA Reports To: Athens Boat Club Buildings and Grounds Board Member Accountable To: Athens Boat Club Board of Governors (BOG) Employment Type: Full-Time Compensation and Benefits: Total Compensation - $70,000 - $80,000 / year Salary - $60,000 - $70,000 /Year Medical Insurance Subsidy - $6,000 / year ($500,00 / Month) after 60 days Eligible for annual bonus up to $4,000 (Paid twice/year based on performance) 10 Days Paid Time Off (First 3 years of employment) Position Summary: Athens Boat Club is seeking a skilled and dependable Full-Time Facilities Maintenance Manager to oversee the upkeep and safe operation of the club’s infrastructure including buildings, docks, public fuel dock, wells, and water storage tanks. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the club operates efficiently and in full compliance with environmental and safety regulations, particularly those governed by the GA EPA, GA DNR, and Army Corps of Engineers. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience maintaining marine and utility systems, understands environmental compliance requirements, and can work independently while coordinating with vendors, staff, and inspectors. Qualifications: Must be a Jack of all trades, proficient with plumbing, electrical, and dock systems, including the safe movement of docks in and out as lake levels change. Strong organizational skills and attention to safety documentation and compliance tracking. 5+ years of facilities management and/or marina maintenance experience. Experience managing vendors, contractors, and inspection processes. Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and able to lift up to 50 lbs. Valid driver's license required. Key Responsibilities: Facilities & Grounds Maintenance Oversee routine and preventive maintenance of all club buildings, docks, pavilion, landscaping, and storage areas. Ensure all facilities and grounds are clean, safe, and maintained to the high standards expected by club members and visitors. Manage seasonal opening and closing procedures for docks and water systems. Coordinate with Social Director board member on events and timing to assist in setup of Pavilion for events. Fuel Dock & Tank Oversight Work closely with the Gas Dock Board Member in the operation and maintenance of the club’s gas dock including pumps, dispensers, emergency shutoffs, and signage. Participate in regular inspections, testing, and servicing of fuel tanks and associated systems. Manage Class A Operators to ensure complete compliance with EPA, state, and local regulations regarding fuel storage, spill prevention, and safety. Well & Water System Maintenance Oversee daily operation and preventive maintenance of on-site wells and water storage tanks. Coordinate required water quality testing and reporting in accordance with health and environmental standards. Work with licensed vendors to service and inspect water systems, maintaining documentation for regulatory agencies. Serve as the club’s primary point of contact for vendors performing services related to tanks, fueling systems, wells, and environmental compliance. Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all inspections, maintenance, permits, and EPA compliance documents. Support and facilitate inspections by local authorities, EPA officials, and environmental contractors. Preventive & Emergency Maintenance Develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule for all systems and equipment. Prepare for and respond to facility emergencies, including mechanical failures, fuel spills, water issues, and storm damage. Set up routine inspections of the docks and storage areas and report any defects to the Docks and Storage Board Member. Staff Supervision Oversee and train seasonal or year-round maintenance and gas dock support personnel. Ensure all staff working near or with fuel systems are trained in proper safety procedures, including emergency response protocols. Budget & Inventory Management Assist Building and Grounds board member in developing the facilities maintenance budget working closely with Secretary and Treasurer board member. Monitor and manage inventory of supplies, tools, replacement parts, and safety materials. Other Duties as Assigned Per direction of the Board of Governors or its designee, the Facilities Maintenance Manager will perform reasonable additional duties as required to support club operations, emergency response, special projects, or regulatory matters. Work Conditions: Work performed in both indoor and outdoor environments around water, docks, boats, and mechanical systems. Weekend and on-call availability is expected during the Athens Boat Club peak season (Memorial Day - Laor Day) or in emergency situations.
