Mental Health Therapist
CloseKnit is an integrated hybrid primary care organization with clinics across the DMV region, serving commercial and public insurance populations. We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Mental Health Therapist to provide high-quality therapeutic services through a virtual care model. The therapist will support clients in developing coping skills, improving emotional well-being, and achieving personal goals while collaborating with families and interdisciplinary care teams to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of behavioral, emotional, and mental health needs.
- Develop individualized treatment plans aligned with client goals.
- Provide evidence-based individual, family, and group therapy using modalities such as CBT and DBT.
- Deliver care both onsite and virtually in alignment with the hybrid care model.
- Track client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, including progress notes and treatment outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with primary care physicians, psychiatrists, social workers, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Communicate treatment plans, progress, and recommendations with clients, families, and stakeholders.
- Provide crisis intervention and support to clients in acute distress.
- Develop safety plans and strategies to prevent or mitigate crises.
- Educate clients and families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
- Maintain a minimum caseload of 25+ clinical sessions per week.
- Full-time 40 hours per week. Flexible scheduling options to include evenings and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in social work, counseling, or related behavioral health field.
- Active licensure (must be able to practice independently) in at least one of the following states: Massachusetts (MA), Washington, DC, Maryland (MD), Virginia (VA).
- 3–5 years of clinical experience working with youth, adults, and individuals with behavioral health challenges.
- Experience working with patients throughout the lifespan (ages 7 and above)
- Strong skills in evidence-based therapeutic practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.
