DIRECTOR AI IMPLEMENTATION & TRAINING

GCM is hiring a Director of AI Implementation & Training to lead AI training for our clients and help organizations carry what they learn into their day-to-day operations.

This is a full-time position based in the Charleston, South Carolina metropolitan area. We’re looking for someone who can work with us in person in Summerville as needed and travel approximately 25% to 50% nationwide for client engagements and training.

WHAT GCM DOES

We teach organizations how to use AI, and then we stay and build the workflows and system connections that make it hold.

Most of our work is training and implementation for construction companies, contractors, and materials producers, along with the chambers of commerce and industry associations that serve them. We typically have a dozen or more engagements running at once across the country.

The rest is longer consulting work. Companies go through training, see what is possible, and ask us to keep going. We are a small team and the work is real. Clients hire us because their people are buried in manual processes and want that time back.

THE ROLE

Training is at the core of this job. You’ll lead AI sessions for client teams, association members, and chamber audiences, both in person and virtually. You need to be able to hold a room when the people in it are busy, skeptical, or have been burned by software before.

You’ll adapt our training approach and materials for different audiences, run live demonstrations using real business problems, capture the workflows participants bring with them, and help turn those ideas into something they can actually use.

Much of the work happens around the session itself: preparing and localizing materials beforehand and doing the follow-up that turns two days of training into adoption.

You’ll also support our longer-term implementation engagements. That means sitting with the people who use a client’s systems every day, understanding where their time goes, identifying opportunities for AI and automation, and translating those opportunities into clear specifications our developer can build from.

You do not need to be a developer. You do need enough technical fluency to understand APIs, integrations, data structures, and what is realistically possible.

You’ll start by learning our approach and co-delivering sessions with our CEO, then move into leading sessions independently.

OUR STANDARD

GCM has grown through word of mouth, referrals, and clients asking us to stay or return. That is a direct result of the quality of our work and the experience we create for our clients.

This person must carry that standard into every session, deliverable, interaction, and follow-up.

You’ll report to our CEO, who remains the engagement lead on every account and attends executive sessions. Between those sessions, you’ll be one of the people our clients hear from most.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Above all, we’re looking for an exceptional trainer and facilitator .

You should be able to hold a room of thirty skeptical people for two days and have them leave with something they will actually use. You can read a room, adjust your approach in real time, explain complicated ideas clearly, and do the preparation and follow-up that make a session stick.

We’re also looking for someone who brings:

• Exceptional standards of client delivery and follow-through
• Hands-on experience with tools such as ChatGPT and Claude, including practical workflows, automations, or agents you’ve built
• Credibility working with both executives and frontline professionals
• Strong program and project management skills
• Enough technical fluency to work comfortably around APIs, integrations, software systems, and data
• The ability to turn a business problem into something a developer can build against
• Willingness to travel approximately 25% to 50% nationwide

Direct experience in construction, contracting, building materials, or a related industry is ideal.

Adjacent B2B experience can also translate well if you have experience earning the trust of both executives and the people doing the work every day.

YOU'RE FIRST 90 DAYS

You’ll:

• Learn our training approach and materials end to end, then observe and co-deliver sessions with our CEO
• Begin leading sessions independently, starting with virtual and half-day formats
• Adapt materials for specific audiences, including association members and client operations teams
• Own session follow-up, including capturing the workflows participants bring and checking whether they are still being used
• Support the day-to-day delivery of an active implementation engagement
• Document priority workflows, including source data and acceptance criteria our developer can build against

COMPENSATION & LOGISTICS

The base salary for this position is $100,000–$125,000 , depending on experience and industry background. We are also open to a variable compensation component tied to client renewals.

This is a full-time, employed position based in the Charleston, South Carolina metropolitan area. Candidates must be available to work with us in person in Summerville as needed.

Travel is approximately 25% to 50% nationwide , depending on client engagements. GCM books and pays for required travel.
