Position Summary The Respiratory Care Practitioner is responsible for the delivery of skilled respiratory care modalities and interventions to designated patient populations with cardiopulmonary system deficiencies and abnormalities, which requires the use of advanced practitioner skills to intervene in complex patient care situations. This position requires specialized training and experience to perform independent, professional respiratory care, ventilator management, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and clinical evaluation of care, including the establishment of therapy and treatment objectives, and the review of care based on the age and needs of the patient. This position operates independently, under limited supervision. Internal contacts include patient care staff and management. External contacts include patients, families, physicians, outside health care providers, and other organizations. Responsibilities Provide independent, professional respiratory care, ventilator management, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and clinical evaluation of care. Establish therapy and treatment objectives and review care based on patient age and needs. Operate independently under limited supervision. Coordinate with patient care staff and management; communicate with external contacts as required. Qualifications Graduate of AMA-approved Respiratory Therapy Training program. Registered (RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care. Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) with the State of Washington. Registry eligibility notice to sit for RRT exam from NBRC (required). Advanced cardiac life support credential required within 90 days of hire depending on population served: ACLS, NRP, PALS. Health Care Provider level CPR certification. Minimum one (1) year of acute care experience in respiratory therapy and critical care (CRT preferred). Consideration may be given to internal candidates not meeting minimum education qualifications. Pay and Benefits We provide a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, retirement, and paid time off. Pay range: $41.44 - $68.50 USD per hour. Pay is influenced by factors such as skill set, experience, and certifications/education. If the position is covered by a union contract, pay reflects the appropriate step on the pay scale.
