About This Role
St. Saviour’s Church Nursery School seeks an experienced and enthusiastic early childhood teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. A collaborative and engaged teacher who is eager to implement innovative approaches and build strong relationships with colleagues, families, and the community is ideal. Providing a nurturing and respectful environment for young children is essential.
What You'll DoThe early childhood teacher will collaborate with colleagues as a co-teacher in a four- and five-year-old classroom. The teaching team will manage the daily operations of an early childhood classroom with 10-12 children. The age range in September is 4-5 years old. The team will develop and implement a curriculum based on the school's guidelines and the CT Early Learning and Development Standards. The team will also assess children authentically, utilizing the Project Approach and The Storybook Journey. Please visit our website at sscns.org for more information.
This nine-month position mirrors the Greenwich public school calendar from September to early June. Work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with flexibility for weekly planning, staff meetings, and professional development.
RequirementsRequirements:
- Experience in an early childhood or kindergarten classroom
- Familiarity with the CT ELDS and CT DOTS is a plus, as is experience in an NAEYC accredited program
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Minimum of an Associate's degree in education
- Skills including digital apps like Google Drive and Docs
- Desire to continue learning through professional development
Required experience:
- Experience in an NAEYC accredited program

- Minimum teaching experience: 1 year
- Minimum degree: Associate's degree in education
A warm and encouraging personality who understands the developmental needs and temperaments of four- and five-year-olds is highly desirable.
