Turnaround Operator

Role Description The Turnaround Operator is a full-time, on-site role based in Houston, TX, responsible for supporting crane and rigging operations during plant turnarounds and scheduled outages. This role typically involves operating cranes and related equipment within established load charts and safety parameters, performing pre‑operational inspections, and assisting with rigging setup and breakdown. The Turnaround Operator will follow job plans, signals, and directions from supervisors and signalpersons to safely lift, move, and position materials and equipment in industrial environments. Daily responsibilities include verifying site conditions, maintaining accurate logs, communicating clearly with the crew, and adhering to company, customer, and regulatory safety standards. The role may require working extended hours, rotating shifts, and weekends to meet turnaround schedules, as well as traveling to customer sites within the region as needed. Qualifications Proficiency in crane operation and rigging, including safe use of mobile and/or all‑terrain cranes in industrial or turnaround environments. Strong focus on safety practices, including hazard recognition, adherence to OSHA and site‑specific rules, and use of personal protective equipment. Ability to read and follow lift plans, load charts, job safety analyses, and work instructions with attention to detail. Effective communication skills to work closely with supervisors, signalpersons, and crew members in noisy and dynamic environments. Physical ability to work outdoors in varying weather, climb equipment, stand for extended periods, and handle moderate to heavy materials as required. Prior experience in refinery, petrochemical, power generation, or other industrial turnaround settings is strongly preferred. Relevant certifications or licenses, such as NCCCO or equivalent crane operator credentials, and a valid, clean driver’s license; an advantage.
