Visual Inspector

The Visual Inspector performs detailed visual inspections of products and components to ensure they meet established quality standards and specifications. This role supports production and quality teams by identifying defects, documenting findings, and helping maintain consistent throughput in a stable manufacturing environment. It is an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals interested in quality control and manufacturing careers.

Responsibilities
  • Perform visual inspections of products, components, and loads to identify defects, inconsistencies, or damage.
  • Verify product quality against established standards, specifications, and quality control procedures.
  • Identify, document, and report defects or discrepancies in a clear and accurate manner.
  • Maintain accurate production, inspection, and quality records as required.
  • Ensure accurate labeling, packaging, and staging of inspected materials for shipping and receiving.
  • Inspect parts and loads prior to shipping and receiving to confirm compliance with quality and safety requirements.
  • Follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines at all times.
  • Work closely with production and quality teams to maintain throughput and minimize rework.
  • Support shipping and receiving activities by confirming that inspected materials are properly handled and documented.
  • Perform repetitive inspection tasks while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
Essential Skills
  • Previous manufacturing, inspection, or warehouse experience preferred.
  • Experience with visual inspection, quality control, or quality inspection is an advantage.
  • Experience in shipping, receiving, or handling inspected parts and loads is beneficial.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects, inconsistencies, and damage.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks reliably.
  • Basic computer or data entry skills are a plus for maintaining inspection and production records.
  • Reliable attendance and ability to work the assigned shift schedule.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines consistently.
  • Comfort working in a steel manufacturing or similar industrial environment.

Work Environment

This role is based in a steel manufacturing environment with a structured production setting. You will spend the majority of the day sitting, with some tasks requiring standing and repetitive motions. The schedule follows a set shift: Monday through Thursday from 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and Friday from 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Closed-toe shoes are required at all times, and safety glasses and ear plugs are provided when needed. The work involves close coordination with production, quality, shipping, and receiving functions in an industrial facility.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Moscow, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.60 - $15.60/hr.
