Data Protection & Governance Specialist

As a Data Protection Consultant, you’ll lead the delivery of data protection and data governance solutions for Avanade clients. You’ll bring hands‑on technical expertise, own project outcomes, and guide clients and junior team members through complex security and compliance initiatives. What you’ll do Lead or co‑lead client engagements focused on data protection and data governance. Design and implement Microsoft Purview solutions (e.g., sensitivity labeling strategies, advanced DLP policies/integrations, Purview DSPM, data lifecycle/retention controls). Perform threat mapping and gap analysis across structured, unstructured, cloud, and on‑premises data. Facilitate client workshops and stakeholder discussions to translate requirements into scalable, secure Microsoft‑based solutions. Qualifications 4+ years of relevant experience Proven experience delivering security or compliance solutions in a consulting or enterprise environment. Experience leading workstreams or small teams on client projects. Microsoft security‑related certifications strongly preferred (e.g., SC‑401, SC‑300, SC‑200, AZ‑500, MS‑102, SC‑100). What you’ll bring Advanced capability in Microsoft Purview (Information Protection, DLP, Records Management) and Microsoft 365 security/compliance architecture. Experience with data classification frameworks, control design, and regulatory alignment (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI‑DSS). PowerShell scripting for automation and reporting. Familiarity with Copilot/AI data risk considerations and emerging technologies. Dynamics 365 Functional Supply Chain Lead Evaluating and understanding the business process and preparing high‑level solution blueprints and design documentation. Ability to analyze client requirements and objectives to determine how software can best meet clients’ requirements and objectives. Work closely with clients and other team members to define, design and align the business application to the business requirements. Convert requirements to functional specifications and functional design documents. Functional consulting, design and configure D365 F&O for clients on Supply Chain, Production, Warehousing and related modules. Experience handling SIT, End‑user training, UAT and Go‑Live. Experience in data migration activities. Manage and deliver small projects independently; lead other consultants in delivering according to client expectations and take ownership of successful completion of deliverables and projects. Participate in the development of functional design documentation and technical specifications, unit and system test scripts, and deployment plans to perform SIT testing. Facilitate functional sessions and weekly status meetings with clients, including the ability to be a trusted advisor for client decision‑making. Project Delivery Lead Lead and deliver technology project implementations across multiple countries, ensuring successful execution within a regional delivery model. Interpret and manage contractual obligations, ensuring alignment with scope, commercial terms, and client expectations throughout the project lifecycle. Operate within consulting and solution implementation environments, driving structured delivery while adapting to client‑specific needs. Engage confidently with CXO and senior business stakeholders, manage escalations, navigate complex situations, and build long‑term, trusted client relationships. Apply technical expertise in Microsoft Opportunities represented, e.g. Dynamics 365 ERP/CRM (or equivalent) to: Challenge and guide delivery teams Contribute to architecture and integration discussions Drive informed solution decisions Lead cross‑functional teams by driving accountability, resolving conflicts, and maintaining delivery momentum, especially in high‑pressure environments. Navigate and manage projects across Southeast Asia (SEA) by adapting to regional nuances, diverse teams, and varying client expectations. Leverage AI capabilities within the SDLC (where applicable) to improve delivery efficiency, innovation, and overall project outcomes. Manage commercially sensitive fixed‑price projects end‑to‑end, ensuring strong governance across: Scope and change management Project planning and scheduling Financial tracking and cost control Risk identification and mitigation Delivery execution and quality Drive results and continuous improvement in ambiguous or unstructured environments, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance outcomes. Foster a customer‑centric culture, building strong relationships while leading, mentoring, and developing high‑performing teams. Independently manage large, complex projects across BU/Practice domains within Avanade (e.g., ERP/CRM programs) end‑to‑end, ensuring successful delivery from initiation through to closure.
