Description

The Shift Supervisor assists the Program Supervisor in the day-to-day operations of the program, as well as an integral role in the training and supervision of the Youth Supports (YS). In the absence of the Program Supervisor, the Shift Supervisor takes on administrative and supervisory responsibilities to ensure the daily operations of the program are uninterrupted. The Shift Supervisor provides support, direction, assistance in the program, in the immediate, as it relates to supporting, making decisions, and problem-solving issues and concerns as they arise in the absence of other leadership team members. Scheduled shifts are either afternoons and evenings or overnights and early morning. All schedules feature four days on, three days off structure. The schedule may be adjusted in a manner to best accommodate supervision needs for the program.

Responsibilities: • Uphold, support, enforce, and monitor all Office of Mental Health regulations as well as Agency policies and procedures. • Effectively demonstrate an understanding and adherence to the Children’s Crisis Residence models of care through interactions with youth and supervisions/coaching of the staff. • Effectively use critical thinking skills to lead Children’s Crisis Residences regarding safety and security issues as they arise. • Assist the Program Supervisor in performing staff scheduling responsibilities as it relates to granting time off, filling for vacant position, etc. • Assist in providing emergency and planned shift coverage for staff members who are absent due to vacation, holidays, illness, staff shortage, etc. • Lead the program routines in a timely and accurate manner according to the posted program schedule/routine. • Facilitate and coordinate admissions, which can occur at any time of day. • Lead programmatic tasks (incident reporting, documentation, accountability systems, etc.) or youth needs (on-call support, etc.). This includes routine and unforeseen events and tasks. • Provide supervision to Youth Supports. • Ensure the program facility itself is in ideal condition (aesthetics, locked doors and windows, etc.) • Other Duties as Assigned: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Required Education and Experience :

• High School Diploma or GED.

• Bachelor’s Degree related to human services (e.g., sociology, psychology, social work, human development), preferred.

• One year of Children’s Crisis Residence experience, preferred.

Essential Job Qualifications:

• Ability to lift 50 pounds without assistance.

• Ability to sit, squat, crouch and stand for elongated periods of time

• Ability to lift arms over head in upward reaching motion.

• Ability to walk up and downstairs up to several times per day.

• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance, free from major infractions and deemed acceptable to our insurance carrier.

• Varying levels of travel as determined by departmental needs may be required with this position.
